Townhouse Renovation – Springwood HIA Finalist 2018
This little Townhouse was desperately in need of a makeover, it was worn, dusty, smelly and had so much potential to be a comfortable home.
Demo phase was fun, tiles had to be chiselled from walls and floors, ancient carpet and underlay had to be pulled up and dumped. Mouldy plasterboard & the old kitchen had to be smashed out along with the old ceiling above the kitchen.
Next we had one of the brick walls down the length battened and lined with new plasterboard (the exposed brick on the other side of the room adjacent to stairs was painted).
Project outcome
A stunning new kitchen was added featuring a mirror & tile splashback, mobile bench and lovely Clipsal power points. Vinyl plank flooring replaced the old carpet on the lower level with fresh carpet upstairs.
The existing stairs were sanded back, re-stained/painted, a portion of wall built in (to allow for electrical cable & for the TV to be fixed to) and a shelf built in underneath to house any media bits and pieces.
All electrical fittings, plumbing fittings and door handles were replaced along with the appointment of new entry doors, and Top Down Bottom up Blinds for privacy.
