Tarragindi One – Build in under renovation and extension
The brief was to update a high set 80’s brick home by converting space under the home as well as extending the footprint slightly to include a new Master suite, extra bedroom, study, laundry, bar and living space with connection to the Pool area and yard for a large family.
The home originally boasted lots of space, however the spaces under the home were not habitable and did not meet the minimum requirements for ceiling heights etc.
Project outcome
The client wanted to have a separate and more private space for their master retreat while allowing their sons to have their bedrooms upstairs with a separate living. The clients also had a strong desire to have better connection to the lower pool area (as we know supervision of children swimming is so important) and by creating a generous sized living and bar area which opens right up to the pool area, the clients wishes truly became reality.
Through clever design, Jayne Air Building Design was able to arrange the layout with minimal new work outside of the existing footprint so that living space and additional bedrooms were approved. This 3 bedroom home could easily have been converted to a 7 bedroom home (clients in this instance chose to retain some garage/storage space and include a study).
This dated 3 bedroom Tarragindi home was successfully converted to a 5 bedroom (master suite including ensuite) + study + large mudroom & laundry + separate bar with 2 generous living spaces, 2 bathroom home.
